Hi
I went thru the tutorial missions a while ago but I would like to do this also with other tanks, is there a way to change the tank that is used in these tutorials?
Or are there maybe missions using the same map(driving track & shooting range) where I could edit what tank is used?

Maybe the tutorial missions should have a different tank anyway because some things don't seem to work like commander assigning targets for gunner, I guess because CO & gunner are the same person in a T-34.

There's a short and useful guide from Friedrich Wilhelm for changing the player tank (this is how most people start out with mission editing).

Thanks, I wonder if I can modify the Tutorials at all because I can't seem to find them, are the saved somewhere else or in a different form?

You will need to unpack the files from the 'main.datapack' file. The original tutorials featured the Matilda.

Thanks, looks damned complicated.

Do you know why it was changed to the T-34?

I think because the Matilda is not a popular tank, and it is 'challenging' to drive properly. People wanted to learn on one of the iconic tanks, with more power.

Have you considered that the Tutorials are not a good starting point? If you want to write a manual on how to make a mission, most people would need to know how to choose a 'friends' force, choose a 'foes' force and set them against each other.

Keep going with this, there is a great need for English documentation.

Well at least the tutorial missions would work like intended when the correct tank is used.

There are tutorials on how to make missions(video & pdf) so I surely won't write one for it.

All I need now is a free mission with the tutorial map and this for each tank/vehicle that the player can use so these tanks/vehicles can be tested without running into the enemy.

Another thing to consider: In the original game, only 3 tanks were playable - The T-34, Panzer IVF2 and the Matilda, each with a modeled interior, or 'cockpit'.

To date, most of the player tanks added don't have a functioning interior. Some parts of the training instruction only make sense if you have an interior to look at.

Those tutorials only cover the basics of mission-making. There's plenty of room to do something useful, so if you want, you could compile and edit the information that's been discussed throughout the forum.

We have several threads that discussed various aspects of editing and mapmaking:
